My First Post!

I have created this blog because I'm a curious feminist and I want to know more about feminism movements and obstacles in many other places besides just Florida (we have plenty here though)

I went to a seminar when my college had Diversity Day and it was all about the wage gaps and pay difference between men and women, I knew about most of the information there but the stats and new info were mind boggling. The one thing I hate about the wage gap is the view on families. If men have a family then they are more likely to get paid more because they are seen as the providers. But if a woman with the exact same job has a family she is not likely to get as much or as many perks because she is not seen as the primary "bread winner" and thus doesn't need it as much. Yet with the growing number of single mothers and the instability of the job market/economy would tend to disagree with the assumption that women need their paychecks less and are being supported by other means.

Thoughts and opinions are appreciated! And if your reading this from another state or preferably another country please tell me if the policies are the same as they are here or if they're better or worse.
